Sarah Sets Sail: Celebrity Summit

Earlier this spring I was invited to preview Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Summit. Originally launched in 2001, the 2,200-passenger ship had just emerged from a bow-to-stern revamp, and was docked in San Juan, Puerto Rico, from where it would begin its new season, sailing to the southern Caribbean and Bermuda.

It was a jam-packed adventure, but I’ve managed to distill three days at sea into this five-minute video. It’s tells you everything you need to know to decide whether the ship is right for you. So just press play and set sail!

Celebrity Summit’s multi-million-dollar revamp took 38 days.

I couldn’t resist the urge to pose poolside with this bronze beauty by Colombian sculptor Fernando Botero. It’s just one piece in an extensive onboard collection of art.

This “Art” sculpture was another of my favorites. (You’re supposed to sit on it, right?!)

And who wouldn’t love this colorful piece?!

Passengers on board Celebrity Summit can take ballet classes with dancers from the American Ballet Theater. This was my attempt at a jetée!
