After The Storms: Anguilla Update
I spent last week in Grenada at #SOTIC2017, the Caribbean's annual State of the Tourism Industry Conference. As usual, it was a welcome chance to connect with my peers on both a personal and professional level. And this year, with the hurricanes in our rear-view mirror, it was a particularly meaningful opportunity, as tourism execs discussed plans to recover and rebuild and strategies to help tell the world that more than 70 percent of the Caribbean is, indeed, open for business and ready for visitors.
One of the highlights for me was the chance to interview Cardigan Connor, Anguilla's parliamentary secretary of tourism, who, during a Facebook Live broadcast on my JetSetSarah page, updated us on the island's road to recovery and delivered the welcome news that Anguilla will have more than 200 rooms ready for the festive season. Hooray!
Here's a snippet of our conversation, but I encourage you to hop on over to my Facebook page to see the full interview. And then, if you possibly can, to hop on over to Anguilla for the vacation of a lifetime.
