The Hottest Place To Go in 2025

It’s the time of year when travel experts like me share with the readers of the outlets we contribute to all the places we think should be on travelers’ must-visit list for 2025.

I shared my pick with the readers of Condé Nast Traveler in their Best Places To Go in 2025 package. And I bet you’ll never guess where I think is one of the “hottest” places to head to in the coming months … Here’s a hint:

It’s Greenland! After visiting last summer and taking a cruise along it’s rugged southwest coast, I’ve concluded that the world’s largest and least populated island is where you should find yourself, ASAP! When I went, it took more than 30 hours of travel time from Miami. But in 2025, a new airport in the capital, Nuuk, expanded regional airports and new connecting (via Copenhagen) Icelandair flights, it’ll be far easier to get to this (for now) largely undiscovered gem.

I cruised along the Greenlandic coast with the country’s oldest ferry company, Arctic Umiaq Line.

Read the roundup here to find out more about Greenland, then start planning your trip to see its majestic fjords, awe-inspiring icebergs and incandescent Northern Lights. Fair warning: It’s a pricey destination and it’s developing tourism infrastructure means you won’t have all the travel comforts and pampering you might be used to. But, trust me, it’s worth it. You heard it here first: For intrepid travelers, Greenland is the new Iceland!
