The Caribbean's COVID Protocols, Explained
If you’ve tried planning a trip to the Caribbean lately, you know that it can get complicated, because every country has different entry requirements and COVID protocols.
In the majority of cases, visitors from the U.S. are required to complete an online Immigration and/or health assessment form and to upload negative results of a COVID test taken between three and seven days before arrival. Some countries require another test, either at the airport or a few days after you’ve arrived, before which you have to quarantine in your room at the resort. Some require COVID-covering health insurance. ALL require masks on the flight, in airport and in interior public spaces on-island. So it’s crucial now to check the requirements and protocols before you go, otherwise you risk not being allowed into the country – or even onto the aircraft!
From Aruba to the U.S. Virgin Islands, I shared the latest updates for several islands with Sandy Fenton on her radio show, Let’s Talk Travel With AAA. I’ll share them with you too, if you click this link! Just bear in mind that this information was accurate as of November 17, but may have changed since then. Be sure to check your destination’s official tourism website before you book.
