A Perfect Day on Anguilla
I’m often asked which Caribbean island is my favorite. And my stock (and honest!) response is that I could never choose just one. Currently there are four island nations that top my list. I won’t divulge them all right now. (A lady should be a bit mysterious, no?!) But I will reveal one of them: Anguilla.
High-end but low-key, sophisticated but casual, with 33 Instagram-worthy beaches and a shopportunities galore, the 35-square-mile island captured my heart when I first visited about a decade ago. And it does the same every time I return.
My latest trip was in May, when I visited for Lit Fest, the celebration of books and readers that’s in its eighth year. Before I left, I squeezed in some time with my AXA bestie, Trudy Nixon. A longtime resident, Trudy knows what’s up on Anguilla, and shares her knowledge with the world via True Anguilla, the island guide she publishes. (It’s complimentary and available at resorts and restaurants everywhere, so make sure you pick up a copy if you visit.)
We had a fun day exploring the best of Anguilla’s beaches, shops and restaurants. And now I’m thrilled to share this video of our day-long adventure with you.
