BuyDayFriday: Kate Spade Saturday
Have you seen Kate Spade’s new line, Saturday? Launched this week, it’s a spin-off of the brand, targeted at shoppers who have a taste for Kate’s colorful and whimsical clothing and accessories but whose pockets aren’t quite as deep as the typical KS customer. There are no brick-and-mortar Saturday shops in the U.S. (yet), but the online store is bursting with KSS stuff, including these travel-related goodies that caught my eye.
How cute is this leather-trimmed coated-canvas Weekender bag? It’s available in two sizes, and I think the larger would make a great carry-on. And I LOVE the separate compartment for shoes/dirty clothes/inflight snackage.
The Weekender comes in stripes and solids and you can even design your own in the color scheme of your choice and have it monogrammed. The only downside: delivery takes six to eight weeks. Prices start at $150 for the small, $170 for the large, and $280 for the customized Weekender.
The Fantastic Elastic passport case ($40) has a nifty feature: a zip-out pouch for receipts/cash/biz cards that allows it to pull double duty as a wallet.
Plus credit card slots; of-the-season styling in black-and-white stripes; and a sunshine yellow elastic closure to keep all your docs safe and secure. If they ever make a leather version, I’m all over it.
The Slip Neck Ponte dress ($130) is possibly the perfect travel garment. One piece with no constricting waistband or superfluous details; it comes in three, go-with-anything colors (I’m partial to the cherry tomato, of course); and the simple style makes it super versatile. And it has pockets!
I’d dress it down during the day with espadrilles and a denim jacket, then pump it up at night time with heels and a statement necklace. And when I find myself in cold, non-Caribbean climes, I could layer leggings/tights underneath and pair it with boots. This nifty little beauty is already in my shopping cart (in two colors, thanks very much.)
So what do you think of the line? Any items you’re craving?
