How To Smile Your Way Onto A Cruise
It probably won’t surprise you to know that I’m a big fan of Caribbean cruising.
I’ve sailed at least a dozen times, and in my book, there isn’t a more efficient way to sample a boatload (ha!) of Caribbean destinations in one fun swoop. Sure, a few hours in port is only enough time to scratch the surface of a given destination, but those few hours on shore will definitely give you a good idea of where you want come back to on a “proper” land-based vacay.
My cruises so far have all been for work (somebody’s gotta do it), so I’m beyond excited to cruise next month with my family for the very first time. I can’t wait to introduce my two first-time cruiser English Aunts to the unique pleasures of the muster drill, formal night, and the chocolate buffet. I can imagine them now, posing for photos with the captain; luxuriating in the on-board spa; sipping rummy cocktails on the Lido deck; and haggling for souvenirs in port.
And if that sort of thing appeals to you, too, you’ll be pleased to hear that October is Plan A Cruise Month. The 31-day sail-abration is organized by the Cruise Lines Industry Association, and I’ve partnered with them to help launch their annual #CruiseSmile sweepstakes, during which they’ll be giving away one cruise a day, every day of the month. Want to win a cruise to the Caribbean, Tahiti, Europe or Asia? Here’s what you need to do:
Upload your “cruise smile” selfie at www.CruiseSmile.org and share the entry with friends. For more chances to win, post your photo on Twitter and/or Instagram using #CruiseSmile and #sweepstakes, and share your #CruiseSmile with friends to earn even more entries into the sweepstakes.
Simple, right?! So brush your teeth, grab your selfie stick, and say "cheese." And come back on Sunday October 23, when I’ll be revealing a very special sweepstakes cruise of the day (which may or may not be Caribbean-bound!)
And just so you know: I've been compensated for posting about this campaign. But the opinions I've expressed are mine, all mine.
